Edna Barr
Leading such a disciplined and active lifestyle naturally led Edna to a career as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, where she could share her passion for movement along with her compassion and understanding of what it feels like to struggle to reach and maintain one's personal goals. As rewarding as this career was, there was still something missing that her soul was craving. She found it in her first sun salutation in a vinyasa yoga class. Even with a lifetime of physical fitness and the spiritual discipline of martial arts, Edna still faced the same challenges as every other beginner to yoga. In 2007, a lower back surgery brought a whole new learning curve to her practice. With 20 years of teaching experience—coupled with the influences of master instructors Anirudh Shastri, Shiva Rea, Duncan Wong, and many Bay Area greats—Edna has developed a creative and lighthearted yet challenging style where everyone can continue to grow in their practice. Carrie BrackinCarrie's love of yoga began when a close friend brought her to her first Bikram class. Being a competitive soccer player since the age of 10, she figured yoga would be a simple workout, something on the side to "de-stress" and "meditate." After that first class she was in love. The physical/emotional/mind/body connection was something she had never experienced in any other exercise form. Besides loving the heat, the structured sequence of the Bikram practice was an ideal fit for her.

Bill OsmerBill took his first yoga class, a Triyoga class, in 1984 and within minutes felt reconnected to something deep within himself. As challenging and fun as the physical aspects of the class were, it was the profoundly peaceful relaxation and meditation that captivated him the most. So much so that within a few months he decided to leave college to devote himself entirely to the practice and study of yoga. He realized that what he wanted to learn and experience in life is not taught at college. And so, for the next several years he spent every day in yoga practice. He was certified to teach in 1988 in the Triyoga method, and has been a full-time teacher ever since. Over the last decades he has developed his own style based on the experience of teaching 25,000 classes at yoga studios, gyms, businesses and privately. Bill believes that yoga exists to help humans physically, mentally and spiritually. The yoga teacher's duty is to draw upon the vastness of yoga postures, flows, breathing and meditational practices and select what is right at that moment for each student or class. He met his spiritual Guru Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji in 1990, and that relationship has had a profound effect personally that is reflected in his teaching style. He has traveled extensively with Sri Swamiji throughout the world as well as to India to further his knowledge of yoga, kriya yoga and healing aspects of music that are subtly integrated in his teaching. Bill is also a clinical Ayurvedic specialist and incorporates this knowledge of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, into his classes and private lessons.

Kim Shetter
Kim decided early in her yoga teaching that it makes sense to teach the kind of class she likes to take: one with music, movement, and enough challenges to justify that final sivasana. She received her training in Phoenix, Arizona, where teachers David Romanelli and Michael Kendall were offering a style of yoga, based on music and flow, that seemed right to her. She has also been inspired by Vinnie Marino in Santa Monica and others in Los Angeles whose classes combine precise alignment with inspired transitions set to some really great music. Her background in alignment principles comes from her Anusara training with Jordan and Martin Kirk. She is grateful to all her teachers for their help and inspiration. She is especially grateful to the mind training and meditation teachers she has studied with over the years in workshops and on retreats. A quiet mind in a flexible body: priceless.

Lorraine Tam
Lorraine's graceful, flowing vinyasa classes place equal emphasis on developing strength, balance, flexibility, breath awareness, and mental focus. Her meditative yin yoga classes release deeply held stress and tension, improve flexibility, harmonize chi (energy) flow, and calm the mind. Lorraine guides students to find the most beneficial postures for their unique bodies. She creates a nurturing space for students to deepen self-awareness and discover freedom in their practice. Kristine Tom
Her style is a strong, dynamic, fluid vinyasa flow. This class will build strength, patience, and balance by emphasizing awareness on the breath in an effort to free the mind from the constant chatter, while freeing the body of physical tension and holdings. Students of all levels are encouraged to explore their practice based on their individual needs. "Above all else I hope to inspire others to have more gratitude, both on and off the mat." -Kristine Sid WilkinsSid is a graduate of Foothill College Fitness program and has been recently awarded, "Fitness Educator of the Year" for Active Older Adults. He is also a fitness instructor at Cardiac Therapy Foundation of Mid-peninsula, where he not only is a re-hab specialist but also runs the weight loss and weight control program.
